Details
Majo bags are made in Italy using fine full-grain calfskin leather, often paired with fabric lining and hand-finished construction details. The brand’s signature lies in its sculptural shapes, enveloping curves, and distinctive stitching: a craft language built through skilled manual work rather than anonymous industrial production. Some models also use chrome-free full-grain calfskin, reflecting Majo’s focus on material quality, durability, and a more responsible approach to leather goods.
Care
Majo emphasizes repair as part of its sustainability philosophy, offering assistance on defects in workmanship or materials and evaluating other repairs case by case. A bag made to be repaired is already a more intelligent purchase.
Majo bags are crafted in Italy from fine full-grain calfskin leather and should be treated with care, allowing the material to age naturally. Small marks, traces, and subtle color variations are part of the leather’s life and character; lighter shades may darken slightly over time.
Protect the bag from prolonged sun exposure, heat, water, grease, perfumes, cosmetics, and oils. Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. If the leather gets wet, dab it carefully with a clean cloth and let it dry at room temperature — never use direct heat or a hairdryer. When not in use, store the bag in its cloth dust bag, lightly stuffed to help preserve its sculptural shape, and avoid overfilling. Take extra care when wearing it with light-colored clothing, as color transfer may occur, especially if the leather is wet.
Majo
MAJO is the only non-Tuscan brand selected by Florence Factory — and for good reason. When we opened in 2016, many local workshops were producing for large fashion houses rather than building their own independent labels. MAJO offered exactly what we were looking for: complete artisanship, technical skill, a recognizable brand identity, and a historical archive.
Handmade in Italy, MAJO works with leather bags and bijoux that combine tradition, innovation, and a strong design signature. Its roots in Central Italy, international trade fair history, and collaborations with prestigious retailers make it a rare example of independent Italian craft with both depth and direction.
Why we selected MAJO: handmade production, skilled leatherwork, distinctive stitching, material quality, brand heritage, and a clear authorial voice.
