At Florence Factory, we bring together a carefully selected collection of handmade leather bags by independent Italian designers, with a particular focus on Florence and Tuscany. We choose bags for their proportions, materials, originality and the quality of their construction. Some are understated. Others experiment with shape, colour or texture. Some come from small collections, with limited quantities and finishes that may not be repeated.

Florence has an extraordinary leather-making heritage. But craftsmanship alone doesn't make a great bag. Design matters just as much.
When Florence Factory first opened, many Tuscan leather workshops were producing for major fashion houses rather than developing independent collections of their own. Finding local makers whose designs matched our vision wasn't always easy.
That's how Majo, a leather bag brand from Italy's Marche region, became part of our original selection. It remains the only non-Tuscan brand in our store.
Today, our bag collection brings together different approaches to contemporary Italian leather design, from established favourites to emerging local labels.

Handmade in Florence, every bag is crafted from carefully selected Italian calfskin and assembled entirely by hand in a small atelier. The leather is hand-airbrushed in successive layers before being cut, stitched and edge-finished, allowing each piece to develop subtle tonal variations that distinguish it from every other.
The generous interior is lined with soft lambskin and organised with a spacious main compartment, an internal pocket and a large slip pocket for everyday essentials. When we opened our store, finding independent Tuscan leather collections that matched our aesthetic was more difficult than it is today. Many local workshops were busy producing for major fashion houses.
Majo, from the Marche region, offered something we valued: an independent collection with its own design identity.
It remains the only brand in our store from outside Tuscany. An exception that says something important about how we work.
We believe in supporting local craftsmanship, but never at the expense of good design.
